The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a paraprofessional who practices under the close, ongoing supervision of a BCaBA, BCBA, or BCBA-D. The RBT is primarily responsible for the direct implementation of behavior-analytic services. Behavior analytic services are both for skill acquisition and for behavior management. The RBT does not design intervention or assessment plans, but implements the plans of the supervising BCBA. It is the responsibility of the RBT Supervisor to determine which tasks an RBT may perform as a function of his or her training, experience, and competence. Applied Behavior Analysis is a proven treatment to reduce behaviors that interfere with students’ learning in the classroom. Safety can be a major concern in the classroom. However, with the skilled application of ABA strategies, behaviors may be modified so the student is better able to stay on task. By training district staff to correctly implement behavior analytic strategies it will increase students’ ability to stay in the least restrictive environment. We will do all necessary training, supervision and examination preparation with your staff.
